Troy Band Boosters
*Fundraisers*        
Fundraising is vital to the success of the Troy Band programs!

This year, the 7th and 8th grade band members will be taking an out of state Spring trip. Therefore, the Troy
Band Boosters is increasing their fundraising efforts this year to make a generous donation towards this trip.
Along with the contribution to the Spring trip, the Boosters continue to provide support for uniform and trailer
related expenses, band events such as IGSMA, as well as student incentives and sectional instructors.
We encourage you to support the Boosters organization as well as build your student’s account through a
variety of fundraising opportunities.

Three different types of fundraisers will occur
throughout the 2011-2012 school year.

One MANDATORY FUNDRAISER:
    •        All students in grades 6th through 8th grade are expected to sell one box of candy bars       
    from World’s Finest.
    •        Candy bars will be passed out at the end of August/beginning of September.
    •        This has been one of the largest organization fundraisers for the Booster organization
    •        If your student sells their initial box by the early bird date, then $5.00 will be placed in
    their student account and $20.00 goes to the general fund. Note: Any boxes sold after your
    student sells their first box will result in $25.00 being placed in your student’s account.
    •        EARLY BIRD DATE IS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH, 2011.


ORGANIZATION FUNDRAISERS:
    These are activities and events that raise money for the general fund. These monies are used for
    uniform and trailer related expenses as well as contributions to band trips and events and that’s
    just naming a few!    


            WENDY’S NIGHTS: Come anytime between 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and a percentage of
    the sales will be given to the Boosters! Please visit the Wendy’s located at the corner of Rte. 59
    and Black Rd. on the following dates:

  • August 4, 2011
  • September 1, 2011 - Great Job! We made $292 for our bands!!!
  • October 6, 2011 - Another successful night! $311 for the bands!
  • November 3, 2011 -$356.80
  • December 1, 2011 -  $237.13
  • January 12, 2012- $109.84 (snow day)

    
    STRACK –N- VANTIL: Come anytime between 11a.m. - 3 p.m. p.m. and purchase a hot dog
and pop for $1.00. What a deal! We do need student and parent volunteers to help with this event!

    o        September 3, 2011 - Great work! $244 towards our bands!        
            2 adults and 4 students needed for each shift; shifts are in one-hour time slots.
            You can sign up at the picnic or contact Jen Perruquet, Fundraising Chair.
    o        If you’re unable to volunteer, please consider stopping by for a quick lunch!


        
McDONALD’S NIGHT: Come anytime between 4-8 p.m. and a percentage of the sales will be
given to the Boosters when you mention us by name or turn in the flyer! The flyer will be passed
out closer to the date below. Please visit the Shorewood McDonald’s located off of Rte. 59, in
front of Home Depot on the following date:

    o        October 18, 2011 - We raised $130 towards our bands this night!

        2nd ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER
    Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Troy Middle School Cafeteria from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    Raised $6,000!





STUDENT FUNDRAISERS
These are opportunities for your child to earn money and build their individual student account. This
money is often used to offset trip cost.   It’s never too early to start building your student’s account!


        WORLD’S FINEST CANDY BARS: Any additional boxes sold (after your student sells their
 first box) will result in $25.00 being placed in your student’s account. Candy bars will available at
 the beginning of the school through the Spring.


       
 FOOD 4 LESS: Consider doing your grocery shopping here! A percentage of the total sales
will be
 credited into an account that you specifically set-up (some exclusions may apply).
            Click the “Services” tab then go to “Community Rewards” to enroll.
            Once you register your card, you’ll receive an e-mail. This will activate your account.
            You will be asked to login. At this time, you will need to designate “Troy Band
    Boosters” as your organization by the following  the directions on the screen.
    o        The Boosters Treasurer, Diane Mueller, receives quarterly statements reflecting your
    money
             earned. This money will be placed in your student’s account.


COLD STONE PIES: Looking for the perfect holiday dessert? Students have the option of selling a
variety of pies and earning money for their student account. For each pie sold, $5.00 will be earned
and placed in their account.  
Students earned over $1200 for their individual accounts!


        The next fundraisers occurred after the 5th/6th and 7th/8th Winter Concerts.
